Sisal Basket Bag – Handwoven Rose & Red Tote

Bring colour and craftsmanship into everyday life with the CHIMBA handwoven sisal basket bag, an eco-friendly piece designed to be both practical and expressive. With its vibrant red stripes set against a soft rose-pink base, this striking woven tote brings warmth, texture, and individuality to summer days, market visits, and travel.

Handwoven in rural Kenya using natural sisal fibres, each bag is individually crafted over several days using traditional techniques passed down through generations. This flexible, skilled work supports artisan makers and fits around family life, childcare, and farming, helping sustain both livelihoods and cultural heritage. The finished baskets are then completed in Nairobi, where durable leather shoulder straps are carefully made and attached by skilled leatherworkers, ensuring strength and longevity.

Naturally durable and designed for everyday use, sisal is a sustainable plant fibre valued for its strength and minimal environmental impact. The CHIMBA basket bag is created to last, offering a more environmentally responsible alternative to synthetic bags while bringing a sense of story and craftsmanship to your daily routine.

Both practical and beautifully made, it makes a meaningful eco-friendly gift or a distinctive personal accessory — ideal for those who value natural materials, artisan craftsmanship, and consciously chosen pieces.
