Merrythought Edward; Christopher Robin's Bear Size 11” | Winnie-the-Pooh Inspired

Handcrafted in England | Individually Numbered | Literary Heirloom

A bear with one of the most remarkable stories in literary history.

Edward is a beautifully crafted replica of the original teddy bear who inspired A.A. Milne’s beloved Winnie-the-Pooh stories. First created by Farnell in 1921 and purchased from Harrods as a first birthday gift for Christopher Robin Milne, Edward would go on to inspire one of the most cherished characters in children’s literature.

Recreated as a Special Edition by Merrythought, Edward is handcrafted in England using traditional techniques and materials that honour the original design.

This is not simply a teddy bear — it is a piece of British literary heritage.

A considered heirloom gift experience, ready to treasure.

Craftsmanship & Details

Finished in rich antique golden mohair, Edward features:

• Peachy-beige pure wool felt paws

• Deep amber glass eyes

• Hand-embroidered nose

• A gentle, characterful smile

True to the original 1921 design, the 18” Edward emits a soft growl when tipped — an authentic detail that adds warmth and collectable charm.

Each bear is individually numbered, reinforcing rarity and long-term value.
