The Design Story

Many will recognise the ancient warning, “don’t fly too close to the sun.” Our Fall of Icarus earrings draw on the timeless Greek myth from which it comes.

The story tells of Icarus and his father, Daedalus, who fashioned wings from feathers and beeswax to escape captivity. But carried away by his own ambition, Icarus soared too high, the sun melted the wax, and he fell into the sea below.

Inspired by those man-made wings and the shimmering heat of the sun, our earrings are hand-carved to echo their feathered structure and capture a warm, golden radiance. A modern tribute to an ancient tale — reminding us of courage, creation, and the fine line between aspiration and excess.
