Nkuku Nkomi Water Hyacinth & Corn Husk Storage Basket

Bring natural texture and effortless organisation into your home with the Nkomi storage basket, handwoven from sustainable water hyacinth and corn husk.

Crafted using traditional techniques, each basket combines tactile materials with a soft, two-tone neutral palette that complements both modern and rustic interiors. The result is a piece that feels both practical and beautifully considered — ideal for storing blankets, toys, laundry or everyday essentials.

Water hyacinth is a fast-growing aquatic plant that requires regular harvesting to control its spread, making it a sustainable and abundant material. Corn husk, a natural by-product of food production, is thoughtfully repurposed here, giving new life to what would otherwise be discarded. Historically used to help preserve freshness, it now adds subtle texture and character to each basket.

A functional yet elevated storage solution, designed to bring calm, order and planet-kind materials into your space.
